Items Needed:
- 32 oz. Spray Bottle
- Cowboy Krisp Concentrate
- Hot Water
- Iron or Pants Press (we personally recommend the SteamFast SF-680 Digital Steam Press)
- Flour Sack Dish Towel
Step 1: Add Cowboy Krisp
Pour Cowboy Krisp concentrate into your 32 oz. spray bottle based on your desired level of stiffness.
Light Hold: 1 oz. makes 16 bottles
Medium Hold: 2 oz. makes 8 bottles
Heavy Hold: 3 oz. makes 6 bottles
Extra Heavy Hold: 4 oz. makes 4 bottles
Need it even stiffer? Adjust the concentration to create your perfect level of crispness.
Step 2: Add Hot Water
Fill the remainder of your spray bottle with HOT water.
Why hot water?
Using hot water is essential to ensure the Cowboy Krisp concentrate dissolves and mixes properly for the best performance.
Step 3: Mix It Up
Replace the spray nozzle securely.
Turn the bottle upside down and gently shake it back and forth until the Cowboy Krisp and water are completely mixed.
Step 4: Align the seams
Lay your jeans flat on a clean surface and align the seams by stacking them together all the way to the waistband. Give the legs a gentle shake to allow the natural center crease to fall straight down to the hem.
Cowboy Krisp Tip: Button your jeans at the top inside out to get the seam perfectly straight.
Step 5: Spray the Jeans
Spray your Cowboy Krisp mixture evenly over the fabric, paying extra attention to the creases. Saturate the jeans thoroughly - they should be completely damp and well-coated, but not dripping wet. Due to our super concentrated product, drenching the jeans is not necessary.
Allow the jeans to absorb for 1-2 minutes.
Cowboy Krisp Tip: To get an even krispier starch flip the jeans inside out and spray both sides of the jeans.
Step 6: Prepare Your Pant Press or Iron
Preheat your pant press or iron to the appropriate setting for your jeans. If using a pant press, place a flour sack towel over the bottom plate of the press. Lay your jeans on top of the towel, then fold the towel over the jeans before pressing. This helps prevent starch buildup on your press and keeps the jeans from sticking.
Step 7: Press the Jeans
Press one side of the jeans for 10–15 seconds, then carefully flip them over and press the opposite side for another 10–15 seconds. Apply firm, even pressure to lock in the crisp finish and create sharp, clean creases.
Cowboy Krisp Tip: If using a SteamFast pants press hold the press down a few seconds after the timer goes off.
Step 8: Let Them Cool
Allow your jeans to cool completely before wearing, folding, or hanging them. As the fabric cools, the starch finishes setting, giving you the maximum hold and long-lasting crispness.
Cowboy Krisp Tip: The hardest part is waiting, but giving your jeans time to cool is the final step to achieving that dry cleaner-quality finish.
